An Oddfellows donation is helping to keep a north Norfolk lifeboat station afloat. The £500 gift from the Trafalgar Lodge to Happisburgh RNLI will go to local station running costs. It was gratefully received at the station’s annual Lifeboat Day event, where the big turnout shows the appreciation the public has for the life-saving service it offers. Oddfellows branch Development Officer Angie Batson did the handover, and even got a chance to board one off the station’s two boats – while it was still on dry land. Trafalgar is a regular supporter of lifeboats in the area, including Happisburgh and Sheringham. The Oddfellows is an historic Friendly Society dating back to 1810, providing social, care and financial benefits for its members as well as friendship and charity fundraising.
